Selection

Question: What products do I use for my project?

Answer: Most applications will require a sealant, a primer, a tape and a cleaner. To see which product you will need for you project click here.

Answer: If you cannot find your project on our project pages, you can call, email or chat with one of our representatives who will be happy to answer your questions.

Question: Do I need a primer for my project?

Answer: Use of an appropriate primer will almost always increase bond and may also provide a moisture vapor barrier. For decks and ponds, and when applying to EPDM or other smooth, non-porous materials, primer can be critical to the success of your project

Question: Which primer do I use for my project?

Answer: Use Liquid Rubber EPDM Primer for EPDM surfaces and Liquid Rubber Multi-Purpose Primer for Metal, Wood, Concrete, Other coatings (not bitumen/tar) Vinyl, Fiberglass, HDPE and most other materials.

Answer: If you cannot find your project on our project pages, you can call, email or chat with one of our representatives who will be happy to answer your questions.

Question: Do I need to use Seam Tape or Geo-Textile for my project?

Answer: Liquid Rubber Seam Tape and Liquid Rubber Geo-Textile are reinforcing tapes used to reinforce your coatings in area's that are subject to expansion and contraction (like joints, cracks, around penetrations, etc.).

These products help prevent the coating from cracking in these "prone" area's and are critical to the long term performance of your waterproofing.

Answer: Liquid Rubber Seam Tape  is the premium reinforcement for metal roofs, joints/seams, cracks, and around penetrations on most surfaces. Use Liquid Rubber Geo-Textile on decks and as the cheaper alternative reinforcing fabric on other projects.

Application

Question: How much do I need?

Answer: How much sealant or primer you need depends on the specific product and the project it is being used for. To see which products you need and what the coverage rates are for your project, click here.

Answer: To determine how much sealant or primer you need, divide your total square footage by the coverage rate provided. Example: You have a 250 sq ft deck and the polyurethane coverage rate is 1 gallon per 50 sq ft.  so 250/50 = 5 gallons of the Polyurethane Deck Coating. (Apply in multiple coats until all material has been used.). Coverage rates are expressed in final coverage and will include all coats needed to achieve membrane thickness.

Question: What tools do I need to apply my Liquid Rubber products?

Answer: Most of our coatings and primers are applied using a brush or 10mm (3/8") nap roller.

Answer: Some of them can be sprayed with airless, light industrial to heavy industrial spray units capable of spraying an elastomeric or bitumen coating (respectively), however, most homeowners will not have access to this equipment.

Answer: Liquid Rubber Driveway Restore can be applied with a foam squeegee.

Answer: Click here to go to our project pages and to download the application guidelines for more information.

Question: Do I need a new brush/roller every time I apply a new coat?
